Hi, Let's say I have a comparison site for power screwdrivers. I have 3 brands I am comparing: Black & Decker, DeWalt, and Ryobi. I obviously would create an adgroup for "power screwdriver comparison", but would I also create adgroups for each of the brands? For instance, would I create an adgroup for "buy Black & Decker power screwdriver" and another for "purchase DeWalt power screwdriver" etc? Or should I just stick to the generic ad?
Make one generic adgroup focusing on power tools, then make an adgroup for each power tool brand. This will allow for optimum relevance to be made within each group.
Talk about digging up old posts, anyway adwords is all about relevancy atm, the more relevant your ad is to your site, and your site to your keywords the less you'll have to pay and the higher you'll be ranked through adwords qs. I suggest going through the adwords learning center for anyone interested in mastering it.
Split test both versions. Start By creating tightly focused adgroups with "Common Keywords" for each product, that seems to work best for me and you will get a higher QS, which will lead to paying less per click.
It depends on what inside the AdGroup too. Does the keywords relevant to the landing page of the AdGroup? The question is about how you manage inside the AdGroup to have really really relevant keywords, advert and landing page.
