Hi there- I am having something strange happen and I think it may be caused by having too small of a budget, but I'd like some help. I started a new campaign about a week ago and every day we start he morning out great until around 11am then tank through midday then see another spike starting around 5pm (all PST). We are running national campaign so the time-zones should offset this lull I would think. For an example yesterday we had a 3.8%CTR and we were running at a $17 CPA (cost per action) at 14% site conversion until around 11am; b y 2Pm we had the same CTR but our CPA was at $32 and our conversion had dropped to 8%. At around 5pm we had a little spike dropping our CPA to $30 and bumping our conversion to 9% but a far cry from our morning numbers. Now by 11am we had already burned through half our daily budget, and then by 7pm our budget was 90% exhausted; so is this a case of Google trying to spread out our funds so they start only showing our ads 1/2 the time or something? I would think that if they were just showing our ads less we wouldn't see a drop in conversion, we would see a droop in volume only? Any help would be greatly appreciated! !
try not to micromanage your account. The day will never been a smooth and even line as far as conversion and ctr go. If you have the campaign set to accelerated it will burn through your budget pretty quickly. Hope that helps. -Patz
