the average search volume is not very specific. It does not actually give you an exact number of searches performed daily. The number given is just an indicator of whether there's very little searches performed or whether there's lots of searches performed.

The average search volume is also only relative. If you where to place the keyword "cars" within the list, you would find the numbers next to all your other keywords decrease significantly because "cars" receives more searches relatively speaking.

If you want more specific values, try googles traffic estimator tool. This tool will tell you the number of clicks an adwords advert can expect to receive per day. You can the use this information to help you gauge how many actual searches are performed for a keyword.

Finally, you could try a tool like keyword discovery, which will give you precise figures for how many searches are performed on a particular keyword. However, be weary, the figures that keyword discovery gives are not 100% accurate. No one except google knows what search volumes a keyword gets, keyword discovery only collects sample data from ISP's and other smaller search engines that are willing to share this information and then uses it to estimate what a keyword's search volume really is.

Wordtracker is indeed a good tool. I just use DP tools though.
