Hi, I am having unbelievably frustrating problems with keywords being put on hold when they are definately the words peopel would use to find my services. Excuse my stupidity but does it help to have the keyword directed to the correct page on the website, rather than the home page? Would it make any difference. I see on the web there are loads of prgrammes to get keywords. Are any of them any good? Please help Darren
Darren, On hold does not mean your keywords aren't showing your ads. It just means there are so many people bidding on those keywords, G can’t guarantee your ads will show. Just open up google search and type in a few of those “on hold†keywords. I bet you see your ad. I would leave them in your campaign for a while because they may get clicks. You might also try another trick if you’re not already doing this, but with multiple keyword phrases, you should double quote and square-bracket them to. I wrote a free tool that does that for you on my homepage if you want to quickly generate these keyword variations. You may find many of these keyword variations will not be put “on hold†and will show your ads much more. Disabled is another story. They will never be shown so dump them. Andrew
That won't help with your positions or your click throughs however it may help with your leads/sales when people get to your site.
