Hey guys, I have an issue. I am trying to advertise my affiliate links from CJ on adwords, but most companies on CJ say you cannot use their name on the display name area for any search campaign. Okay fine, so I try a redirect approach where it bounces off my website and to the company website. Google disapproves this method. So now, I can't use the company name as a display name, and google is not allowing me to do a redirect. What can I do to get around this issue?
The rule is that the final landing page domain is the one to use in your ad's display URL. If you are redirecting from your site to theirs, you will have to change your display URL. As for using a trademarked term, a company asks Google that they not show their trademark in the ad (headline and description lines). You can use it in the display URL. You can also ask the trademark owner for an exemption which you then submit to Google. Companies however are more likely to give exemptions to authorized resellers, not affiliate marketers.
You might consider direct linking. I haven't personally used this method, but it is no doubt the simplest.
I used to be an affiliate marketer. What is your niche? If you are promoting a site that requires the user to purchase something, then that's your problem. Its called rebills. Google is extremely cautious of affiliate marketers because Google knows that affiliates are selling products with false information. Try media buying, you will get tons of traffic there and they don't have such tight rules as Google.
Be careful in what method you apply as affiliate ads showing accounts get slapped very easily with all your money stuck. I would advise you to exercise caution and get some professional help if you are not confident.
