Hello Digitalpointers I've been lurking here for a while and I'm really impressed with all the information and discussions - which have helped me with adsense and adwords. Finally I'm joining in because I've got a question I can't find an answer to. Just recently I added a page to one of my websites, which has adsense on it, and for which I set up an adwords campaign - just for that page. What's really strange is that according to adsense, I'm getting about 50-100 pageviews per day, but according to adwords, the ad for that page is getting 200-300 clicks per day. Surely each click would load the page, and therefore result in one instance of adsense being served? I realise some browsers may have javascript turned off but up to 75%? Web stats compare approximately to the adwords figure. Any ideas why the discrepancy?
I figured it out. The adwords link was going to an error page, so although I had many clicks (I'd managed to get adwords CPC of 0.01 and CTR of 40% too!), no one was seeing the page they thought they were, and pageviews in adsense for that channel were not registering the error pageviews of course.
