Hi, My question: Is it possible to be banned if you violate this rules? (from Google AdWords Help Center) We do not allow the following: Display URL: display URL different from your destination URL. Redirect URLs: Ads that contain URLs that automatically redirect to the parent company. Bridge Pages: Ads for web pages that act as an intermediary, whose sole purpose is to link or redirect traffic to the parent company. Framing: Ads for web pages that replicate the look and feel of a parent site. Your site should not mirror (be similar or nearly identical in appearance to) your parent company's or any other advertiser's site. I'm new on Affiliate Marketing and i was thinking to buy a domain and build a landing page, like almost everyone's doing here, but what about this? Thanks
Thanks, So, i received several emails about inaccurate display URL cause i made several mistakes, no have to worry to be banned ?
I'm using only re-directs. And in many others AD Groups i've mistaked Display URL several times in last mounths. Now i read this rules i did'nt know. May takes some time to correct alls. I'm worry about possibility of my Adwords Account to be banned...
affiliate URL is not a problem, adwords make major share of their revenue through affiliate members. its just that you cannot direct traffic directly to an affiliate site. you should have a landing page with contents. and the display URL need to be within the same domain of landing page url. it doesn;t have to be exactly the same, as long as its in the same domain, thts fine
sultanofseo You can redirect directly to an affiliate site. That's called direct linking, and it's allowed
Ok. I'm getting frustrated. I see people going back and forth on this. I want to know this: If my google ad is like this (I'm making up words) Product blah blah blah more blah blah blah www.mydomain.com/blah and within www.mydomain.com/blah i have a page, index.html, that contains nothing really other than the following code: 1) a META tag redirecting to an affiliate product (ie xxxxx.xxxxxx.hop.clickbank.net) or 2) a javascript window.location redirecting to an affiliate product Is this allowed by adwords? If not, is it a ban-able offense or do they just crush your QS and make you pay higher for ads? You say yes this is allowed. But according to the good adwords policies, I've found this: Affiliate Policy We do not allow data entry affiliates to use AdWords advertising, but all other affiliates may participate in the AdWords program. However, we monitor and don't allow the following: Redirect URLs: Ads that contain URLs that automatically redirect to the parent company. So is what I am trying to do allowed or not allowed? How many of you guys do this and it's been fine? If this is something that is not allowed, if I edit my robost.txt file to disallow the adwords bot to look at my site, will I be fine then?
Affiliate links are allowed to be put directly in the destination URL. If it weren't allowed, why do you think you had two separate tabs, one for display url and one for destination url? BUT, the destination url has to be the same as the display url. What? That means that your affiliate link must be in a similar form such as: www.myaffiliateproduct.com?affid=5432 if the website you are promoting is www.myaffiliateproduct.com. It should not be a different url, like johnthegreat.hop.clickbank.net.
