Does using too much Google Adwords affect your keyword rankings especially on major search engines like Google, MSN and Yahoo?

I've also heard about it, and although many people say it doesnt affect rankings, I somehow get the feeling it actually does affect rankings. But then again, I might be wrong

Yes it does, if you are using content matching. The reason being, when you use content matching, your ads sometimes show up EVEN AFTER you pause the ads. The ads show up ONLY on the search pages of google for that content site. I guess it takes a few days for search spiders to crawl and update.

This seems to be giving a boost to my rankings eventually as it happens as long as my content matches are active though the sites vary.

I'm inclined to think so. I had a website that was ranked top 40 on Google before it totally disappeared one day after I changed the text on the header. FYI, the website was around 2 months old when this happened.

During the next 2 months of its "absense" in the organic search results for the targetted keywords, I used Adwords instead. Over time, my ads enjoyed good CTR, ranked number 1, and was frequently displayed above the organic search results.

Then about 2 months later, my site re-appeared in the top 10 search results for the best 2 performing keywords in my Adwords campaign. Do you think they are somewhat related?

Using AdWords - content search or other - has no direct impact on organic rankings.

You should mention your keywords near the top and/or bottom of a page for Google ranking.
