Has anyone ever recieved a notice from Google legal that a subpoena has been issued for your adword account? I received one yesterday regarding a class action lawsuit between 2 individuals and a company I've never heard of. Is this common? Did anyone else receive the same? At the time of the supposed problem, my account was not even active.
It must be a fishing/Spam/scam. If you don't even have an Active adWords account how can you even thing this is remotely possible? Just ignore and move on with your life.
I'm not a lawyer but I would think anything could be subpoenaed to prove something in court, including an Adwords account. I've never actually heard of this happening before but that doesn't mean it's impossible. How is the email worded? Are you absolutely sure it's from Google? My guess also is that it's a scam, probably trying to get you to click the link and getting your login information. Any reason you can think why your account is being subpoenaed? I can't think of a legitimate reason but it could happen I suppose. Doesn't matter if it's a dormant account. Would a lawyer requiring access go through Google? Why don't you contact Google - by phone, not email - and clarify. Again, probably a phishing scheme.
I haven't received this specific spam attempt, but I have received something similar. They were trying to get my Google Adwords account info. I would report it to Google Adwords, just in case. Obviously you aren't to blame here.
I was able to find this info. It seems that it's only applicable to android developers (not sure that exactly means). There's a post here: http://makingmoneywithandroid.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=783 And then there's a link there to this: http://phandroid.com/2012/10/01/goo...rs-sub-peona-warnings-over-fbi-investigation/
