Adwords “pop up”? Is it Possible?

    Is there a way for me to change the Google adsense HTML so when people on my site click on an adsense link it will open a new window instead of taking them away from my site? I heard if you do that it won’t register as a “click through” with Google.

    To make your visitors visit ads without affect your site
    All you can do is tell the visitors that
    I'm NOT SURE I'VE JUST ASKED GOOGLE AND THEY'RE NOT REPLY ME YET
    (Sorry for capital letter)

    "If you're interested in ads ,Please hold Shift or Ctrl key before click to visit advertiser without affect your site using."

    Oops , I'm very busy LOL I forgot to say "Thanks in Advance" to adsense support before submit question
    Will they answer to me ? (Mostly , If I says Thanks Or Sorry for your inconvinience , I'll get reply in 1-2 days)

    It is still not allowed, it would be considered drawing attention to the ads then. If you are getting paid for the click, in exchange for that, Google is deciding how the advertiser should receive that click, namely in the same browser window. Only a handful of premium publishers have permission to open the ads in a new window, and AFAIK, no regular publishers have permission to do it.

    Yup...I remember reading an article...all you have to do is edit one simple line...

    But yeah it's against the TOS. It shouldn't really matter though...Make money...lose visitors...But really, a lot of people simply click back if they aren't interested in the ad.

    I think that all you have to do is change:

    target="_top"

    to:

    target="_blank"

    Thanks guys!

    It has little to do with "drawing attention to ads".

    There is a very straightforward section in TOS that states you must NOT alter the code in any way!

    The only way to make it work is to alter the code (to the best of my knowledge anyway) and that in itself is the violation.

    I have two thoughts on this matter

    1. I read somehere that google is considering allowing new windows at some point in the future. This is not confirmed, just threads from people in the know on other forums. I would imagine they will be under pressure from some Premium advertisers to allow this at some point.

    2. Why worry so much about losing visitors? if you have a site where stickiness is important, especially if you are selling a product, then its probably not a good idea to have google ads anyway as it can be a bit pointless losing visitors - especially to a potential competitor. Others on this baord disagree with me here but I stick to my own rule of NOT having adsense on my sites where I sell a product. It can quite easily be tested by runing the ads for a month and then removing them for a month - see which option make the highest total revenue from the site.
