Ok, agreed that I am probably not a good adword expert. I've been trying to get adwords working for me for the past 5 months with little success. I am trying to do some affiliate marketing /PPC. People everywhere talk about click for 5 -10 cents and if I try to do my adwords marketing with this amount I get a paltry CTR of about .5% and positions about 25-30, meaning little traffic. If I give the bid amounts higher I probably get about 2% CTR with better positions. Is there a way to get good targetted traffic from adwords with less dollars??
It all depends on the volume of competition Try this - write at least 10 ads per adgroup and set the "settings" to optimised so that only the most popular ads show. Ensure the ad copy is of a high standard, both in terms of attractiveness and relevancy. These factors may increase your CTR and thus your position without dramatic increases in costs. However the fact remains that if the guy is 10th place on page 1 is also doing this and bids £0.50 you will NOT get on page 1 with a 5 cent bid. The other alternative is to hunt out some lesser used but still relevant keywords. if you do this you MUST ensure they ARE relevant of you will get more clciks and still no sales. Finally if all ele fails - try a different product with fewer competitors.
