Hi all, I'm wondering, would you trust a keyword in google when it gives an estimate but no results for the previous month? I'm seeing many keywords with "not enough data" for the previous month. Should I trust the number under "Approx Avg Search Volume"?
The numbers that Google gives in their keyword tool are just approximations. I'm sure you've noticed how some keywords end up with the exact same search volume. So you can't rely on those numbers to be completely accurate. It is an interesting situation when they don't have data for previous months. In most cases those aren't seasonal or buzz keywords that are just now gaining in popularity. I would still consider targeting such keywords, but not as a main keyword. I would give such keywords lower priority. If in doubt, try checking the search volume for that keyword on wordtracker, seobook's keyword tool or keyword elite (paid software).
