I'v read about somepeople doing a lump sum technique; dropping around $500 into adwords for the first month then stopping it. Letting the site grow on its own afterwords.

I'v also herd of some people using very specific keywords and bidding high. As to get specific type of traffic.

While some people put in as many keywords as they can and bid as low as they can, to get cheap traffic.

My question is, what do you guys find works the best? one of these, or sompthing else?

No, this don't makes sense, if you stop adwords your targeted saled will stop also.

You can try to bid high on very beginning just to have faster start but this will not give you any permanent advantage.

But I only recommend this if you have a wide experience in AdWords and if you are 100% sure that you are investing in a high ROI market time is money and you don't want to wait 2 weeks to your campaign really start running.
