There are so many ebooks and articles about Adwords, I have read alot of them but I wanted to know who is your adword guru ?
i agree there is no guru. just read different blogs from different people test and decide. Thata my opinion!
yep, the word guru reminds me of some scammy 1980's MLM company. The real "AdWords gurus" are the guys and gals working in the AdWords trenches day after day quietly figuring out what works and why.
What I am trying to find out is, who do you trust when you read their article, blogs or ebooks. or who's advice is more accurate about adwords
You need to experience it yourself.....practice....practice...and practice...that way, you'll know whom to trust. sometimes, you'll even end up trusting your own instinct..and not someone else's opinion or advice
read everything and at the same time test. After a while you will figure out yourself what to trust and what not!
On the topic of Adwords, what sort of absolute minimum ctr would you strive for ? Something like 5% ? I know it depends on the product and profit etc etc but just humour me please.
Start by trusting no one - espcially people who are trying to sell you something. Use the ideas, comments and other things you pick up from forums and blogs to formulate some of your own tests. If you want to identify some quality sources of AdWords news and info check out www.seroundtable.com, www.searchengineland.com, the forum you're reading now, adwords.blogspot.com & the AdWords forum at SEW. ewhispers site has some great info too. There are of course a lot of other great resources out there but those are all a good starting point. Most don't focus primarily on AdWords but they do keep tabs on the industry.
Not sure who are the real gurus. There are some self proclaimed gurus out there. One is Chris Mcneeney who wrote Adwords Miracle, Affiliate Project X, and Day Job Killer. He claims he makes 7 figures a year on adwords. I have bought Adwords Miracle, and DJK which were good reads and teach you the basics. The rest is up to you to test different things and see what sticks. Either way you are probably going to start off losing money and then fine tuning it to work somehow or just giving up. My experience is that if you are selling affiliate stuff thru direct linking (especially Clickbank products) then you have to "Cloak" your link. He shows you how to do this for free or you can buy software to do this. If you don't do this then you will lose your commission more often than not. Even though I am an affiliate of his products, my advice if you really want to buy one or more of them is to join Clickbank for free and buy them from your own link. You will save 50%. Landing pages are good but require some skill with putting together a good sales page which many of us just don't have. You can have a pro write it for you for a fee though. Good Luck, Ather
