Adword coupons - Are they transferable?

I'm looking to buy some adwrods coupons, I understand they have to be used for new accounts - but before I go to all this trouble are the coupons transferable?

What I mean is I'm in the UK and if I enter a coupon for someone in Asia, surely that will not work?

Some work worldwide, it depends. I am also from the UK and often buy the 100Euro ones which work out at around £95 - £5 registration fee.
