gday guys.. couple of questions... firstly can .tv & .name or even .ws be used for a normal site ?? why do they cost more, yet hardly ever see any sites with them... how would search engines look at these domain extension ? same as a .com ?? Thank in advance... about to purchase some domains and unsure if to use the mentioned above. Edit: Also what does backorder domain mean ?? its taken but i get the option of to back order ? it's just a gimmick. You can use any domain for any purpose but it just helps to brand your site in a given niche as a TV site or .edu, educational based site etc. This can be helpful when people are searching but in reality no domain automatically gets more prominence it's all about how you build links to your site and the content on it.
thanks for advice.. i wanted a certain domain but was already gone, some got a couple of .tv sites hope this wont effect search engine rankings.. .stupid .TV's cost an arm and a leg
