Advise on converting a pc into a home server

    Please read before flaming!

    I have an old pc that I would like to use as a test server. It is only going to be used as a server for me to test scripts on. It will not be accessed from the outside.

    With that being said. How do I go about doing that? I have a router and that is about it.

    * Apache 2.2.3
    * MySQL 5.0.27
    * PHP 5.2.0 & PHP 4.4.4
    * phpMyAdmin 2.9.1.1
    * FileZilla FTP Server 0.9.20
    * OpenSSL 0.9.8d

    I have never tried this one. ill looking for a small one i use to use

    I know how to install ubantu and i have used xampp but I don't know how to sset up a pc on a home network to simulate my web server.

    There is an excellent website http://www.dslwebserver.com/
    I used this to set up most the above mentioned softwares in my pc.
    There is a step by step setup instructions avaialble there.
