It would have to be a dedicated server if you plan on getting some decent traffic on them. I dont know who with though, as i have not used a dedicated server as of yet.

I host mine with Godaddy however its against there terms of conditions, so i would not advise that, it is inevitable that my account will get suspended but hey, until then i ll fight on

I have had a dedicated server with "thewird" here on DP, for seven months now with great service and support. He is great with setting up servers for use with Proxies.

    Here is his info:

Quality semi-managed hosting, specialized in proxy servers and VPS's.

fdc servers is good for proxies because they have unmetered bandwidth for pretty cheap. I used them when I had a network of proxies. Then again, there are people willing to host it for you for free as long as they get to host ads on the proxified pages.

The are a few reliable proxy hosts on this forum. I suggest avoiding the "too good to be true" offers or "unlimited everything" offers. They are usually run by people trying to make a quick buck. The reality is that at the end of the day, proxy hosts need to pay for their expenses (bandwidth, support personnel, servers etc) and if there is not enough cash coming in they'll go out of business.
Look around in the web hosting forum and compare offers.

    Hope this helps

When I ran my proxy I used a dedicated server. That's really the only way to go.

wdservers.com is the ONLY way to go IMO. He's the best and he truly knows what the heck he is doing and how to fix problems when they arise. Plus he deals with all abuse complaints.
