Hi there, I'm creating a company here in Turkey. I'll first focus developing web projects of customers so to gather some money and later focus my personal web projects to guide future. This is the best way I guess. So now, I need several clients to start things but I honestly don't know where to find people who need web projects. Forums: Local forums are limited in terms of budget. A project more than 1000USD is high for Turkish customer. As a web developer I'm aware that mid or big size project may take more than 1 month so budgets should be a little bit higher than that. International "rent a coder" platforms RentACoder.com, getaFreelancer.com, this kind of sites have been invaded by large indian companies. It's impossible to be heard by a project owner, even you feel yourself ready My several solutions: 1. Try to meet with people who really know the meaning/value of web-development. I don't know why but construction companies generally love to develop web projects and they really understand what a web project can bring. The reason I guess both process is "construction" and they see web development not as a different job. 2. Advertisement to forums: phpBB forums with 10K+ traffic are cheap to give advertisement comparing to other projects. So giving advertisement on "I'm a web developer, I can create your projects" can be a beneficial because the very first work can give me more than I spend for the ads.
