Well, if you make around 10,000 daily unique visitors there is a great chance that you may reach your goal. Adverttising isn't always the best solution. I've heard from many successful people that the trick is SEO. They spent less and earned more, but then again, advertising wont hurt. Just submit your website to many directories and try to link exchange with other wbesites. Then after a year or two your website may start making that much money. That is if you keep it up-to-date and have interesting things that will keep people coming back. Also, people like to write feedback to most texts on websites so setting up a guestbook or forum would be nice, too. Best of luck to you!
Article sites can make A LOT of money - check out askthebuilder.com they are making a lot of $$... Just go to google adsense case studies.

You are wrong. If I see something that I like, I will click on that ad. ... So, I am not a good "english speaker" .
How about making more money by focusing on high payment keywords? http://www.wireadsense.com/Cat/General/Adsense_high_paying_keywords/default.aspx
I never do. I will type in the URL. I guess I'm supersticious that the man (G) is always watching. I figure they know me by my IP and cookies and hence they would know if I was clicking on other G ads. Don't want them to think I'm trying to help another site out with charity clicks. I am paranoid? ;-)
Article sites do make money. If they are of a profitable niche, even better. I own a few of them and though they are still very young, I'm starting to see some candy money. That's good enough for me. I can wait.
99% of people with article sites make little to no money cause the articles are often taken from other sources or coppied so they rank below all the other 1000's of duplicates on the SEPRS. Also, getting the articles indexed quickly and ranking well is hard if you dont know the right methods.
Haha.. don't be mean to fryman just because he yell at you. He just treats bad here in this thread because you said that you where leaving and not really leaved. If I was you and wanted to keep posting on DP, I would make a new user account on DP.
Establish a site for a month then sell for profit. Create a similar site and use the profit for advertisement. It's all about hits, if you dont have a budget/money then flip websites. That was my blueprint for 6 months.
