Advice when offering guaranteed results in Google

There are so many threads started on DP offering services to improve your SERPs in Google and other search engines.

I see too many of these threads where people are too vague or the promise is not backed with any real guarantees. These often lead to critical comments from other members which in fairness are often valid comments.

If you want to successfully promote your service then you may want to consider the following points-

    1. Understand that all keywords are different. You cannot simply offer guaranteed top 10 listings for $200 or similar. Consider the keyword ‘credit card’. I would be impressed if any member here could get a new website to the top 10 of Google for this search term on a small budget. Perhaps offer guide prices that are subject to negotiation.

    2. What is your time frame? Consider how much competition there is for the keyword and how new/old is the domain name. Can you really offer

    3. Provide some information on the methods you will use – directories, articles, blog commenting, link building etc.

    4. Offer a staggered payment plan. 20% upfront, 40% on reaching an agreed goal, 40% on completion.

    5. If you are new on DP with very little itrader history do not be surprised that people will not pay a single $ up front. Trust is something you earn, but even then buyers should always be careful when purchasing services from more established members.

    6. What exactly is your guarantee? Just adding the word to your post is not enough. If you do not provide the promised result what are you offering – full refunds, free services, additional work?

    7. Can you prove your work. At this point you should not claim to be the person responsible for getting Apple on page 1 for the keyword 'computer' - we won't believe you :) because it was me that did that :)

Has anyone else got any comments to add to mine?
