I am the owner of a multiple celebrity fan website, getting about 2000-3000 vistors a day, just wanting some advice on how best to monetize this traffic. The traffic is mostly organic and comes from search engines, mainly google. At the moment the site uses a Sexkey to protect a gallery of each celebrity, and this is making approximately $20 US a day. The site also has an adbrite bar but we're looking to remove it as it's making a negligible amount. I would like to increase the revuenue gained from the visitors we already get, and welcome any suggestions of programs, affilate programs, ad revenue programs etc. If you would like to know the url so you can have a look please PM or email me. I would suggest you should go for Social media Optimization, it is one of the best method to connect with online communities & community websites and that will drive targeted traffic.
What BobChrist means in terms of social networking, are sites like Digg.com, Reddit.com, and other sites that bring forth a massive amount of traffic. I would also recommend StumbleUpon.com as a phenomenal way to bring targeted traffic to your site. This will increase your ad impressions as well. To get a taste of Stumble traffic, send me your site and I'll hit it. In terms of monetization, for the celebrity site that I run, we use Adsense, as well as Text Links Ads (http://www.textlinkads.com). Blogads also seem to work well and bring in about $700 a month (during a GOOD month). Anyone else have any thoughts?
