Ok I'll try and keep this brief but I'm starting a BIG project and any feedback would be great. The real estate site will work 3 fold. 1. Condo owners can submit their building for free, provided ideally they supply say 200 word unique content along with photos. 2. The most important part is that people who live or have lived their get to write feedback and/or vote it up or down / maybe detailed voting. I want the website to have a "pulse". 3. Slighlty a side issue, but one which brought me to this idea in the first place is that people who live in the same building can request to become friends in the same building. So facebook group for each building. This will take time - alot and may not kick off, but a fun issue to it. The problem I'm having is customising the theme. I don't want it stagnent like usual real estate themes, but not a forum - something in between. I'm really putting this out there but any idea's would be great. Also - anyone have any crafty ways of harvesting emails for condominium owners in my required city? A long shot I know. Thanks if anyone can offer some feedback.
Well you can either use Wordpress to build such a site as it has plugins that can handle your requirements, but then the themes you'll find for this wordpress site have been same all around, nothing new or unique about them. OR you can use joomla to build your site as it too has plugins to give you functionality that you require, and it has lots of themes that you can work with. Actually how a theme would look like depends upon your sense of creativity, and your vision, how you see your site in your mind, how you want it to look and work, and be used by your visitors.
