Advice - SEO For www.celeb-forum.co.uk

I’m a little stuck at the moment - I don’t really know if im not being patient enough, the site was made live on 15-Feb-2006.. i would really appreciate some one offering a little advice to a newbie.

I wanting to get into the top10 in Google im number 1 in msn and yahoo but I just cannot get anywhere near Google..

The keyword I want to achieve a high ranking on is “celeb forum”, a allinanchor:celeb forum search in Google puts me at nr7 or 8

I have optimized the page as best i think for this keyword...a

The word "celeb" is not used throughout the page. It is only used in the very bottom text. You also dont have much content on the the homepage. I would add more text and use "celeb" more frequently. You also arent using any header tags. At least use H1 and make sure celeb forum is in there.

You also dont have any PR. Get yourself some incoming links.

 

You definitely have some serious problems.
Google only sees about 3-4 pages of your site.
I launched a forum only a few weeks ago and have 175 pages indexed.

I would ditch all the dirty ads that are cluttering up the content on your site
I also think you have celeb forum too many times in the url (domain and sub-folder)

Do you have any stats that show if the bots are hitting your pages?

Looking in my log file i have 144 records of google looking at profile information (of users) and topics... could i just be sandboxed?

Whats the odds just looked at my logs and google just visited every topic on my board just guess i had to sit and wait thanks guys!

 

Googlebot is seeing a session id in the url string.
A session id often changes, which means, it looks like the page names are always changing. How can google index a page, when the name of it always changes?

You need to get rid of the session id, this is your biggest problem, it seems

 

I have started to rank today some one searched for "holly willoughby banana video" and i was nr2 in the list.... now is this an indicator for when my main keywords will start to rank? ("celeb forum")

The session id - i have not fixed and google seems to be tralling all the posts and topics fine.?

my bigiest problem was with the theme i chose the guy who made it turned off all the bots on the first page.... dont know why.. anyway i stoped that...

for anyone else who has these problems.. the theme was SMF_AQUA

and in the index.template.php file there is a section with nofollow,nosnipet for robots remove these two lines....

 

smf not the best package for this IMO....

With vbulletin and Vbseo your going to get better links.... instead of:

you could have

http://www.celeb-forum.co.uk/celeb-forum/Celebrity-and-Celeb-Pictures/

Also.... and I'm a newb so somebody please correct me if I am wrong on this.... but I question the need to put the forum in a folder if it is the only thing on the site. I'm trying to get my sites as shallow as possible. but again, that is just my impression from reading and may not matter.
