Hi ! Firstly, i would like to mention that i have been using DP from quite a while, but never registered until now. I forward my warm regards to all DP members. Secondly, I would like some expert advice about transferring my domain name from my host Servage.net, to which my website has been hosted for about an year and a half now. This is what i want : I wish to have my domain name removed completely from any and all control of Servage and would like to have it transferred solely onto my name. I don't intend on using any other host at the moment. I just want it tagged to my own self (my name) so that I have full control over the domain. Why I want this : Lately, I've been seeing a lot of threads posted by people facing issues with servage.net regarding domains. I've also read somewhere that domains cannot be transferred within 15 days of the purchase of a domain and also in the last 15 days of the expiry of the domain. However, im not sure about this info. Anyway, I have posted what I want clearly above. Will greatly appreciate help and expert advice regarding the same.
Servage.net use to be my host though they were not my domain registrar and so I'm not overly familiar with their control panel regarding dns stuff. I've recently transferred domains from Godaddy to Name.com. You'll need to firstly unlock your domains at Servage, then turn-off any private registration, if in place, and get an authorisation code from Servage. Make sure that the admin email address for your domain at Servage is valid. You'll need to create an account at another registrar and follow the prompts for transfer of domain. At some point they will ask for an authorisation code, enter what Servage gives you. The whole process may take a week. Hope this helps. ps. Do not use your new host as the domain registrar.
