Advice please for ClickBank and AM newbie

Hi, I started with Clickbank a couple of weeks ago and have been trying out a few products to sell. I am mostly using google adwords at the moment.

Out of the 6 I have tried so far I had to ditch 2 of them almost straight away as the ads were not getting enough impressions due to low scores etc even though I thought I had a good product and good keywords.

Anyway, 1 of my ads has had a reasonable number of hops in the short time I have had it (230) and another one is also on a CTR of about 1% which I think is OK, another 3rd one I have only just started.

Anyway, my question is that overall on everything I have tried I have had around 400 hops but no sales. Is this normal or should I keep trying some other products? When should I give up on a product selling even if it gets lots of hops?

Thanks very much in advance for any advice you can give me :)

When it comes to google adwords, products can be a hit and miss. It depends on what the market it is like for a specific product and what your ads say, but I would not start out AM with only adwords. IMO you should write some articles on your products, 300-400 word, and put them on Ezine Articles and Article base. You can also make Squidoo and Hub Page sites as sort of a "squeeze" page for your product. Then link those together, and try to get them ranked in the search engine by using something like Onlywire or SocialMarker. YouTube reviews are great as well. Put links to your product page/squidoo lens/ or landing page in the description of your video and you can easily pull some awesome traffic and great conversion ratios if you soft sell your product and give an honest review of the product. Try to get your product owner to give you an evalutation copy or trial so you can actually review and not bullshit, because people know when you are bullshitting. Lol. Anyway, if you need anymore help just feel free to PM me.

What are you doing to add value to the product?

Successful Clickbank marketers presell and add value.

There is a lot of competition so you have to set yourself apart.

It's not uncommon to have 500 hops and no sales. You will want to really hone in on your keywords and make sure they are directly related to the offer.

A big mistake a lot of ClickBank Affiliates make is not following the Offer Sales process. Make sure it's easy to buy, make sure that you know if the process works. A lot of Clickbank purchases are overly complicated or redirect to something else, or encourage the potential buyer to opt in to an email and buy later.

    Marketing and Selling are different.

    Good luck.

Thanks guys, I guess I have a lot to learn but I'll keep plugging away. There is a lot of stuff that I haven't heard about there Vetona so i will do some investigations on that. I think the products I have with a good CTR at the moment wouldn't really be something that I could write an article on so maybe I need to go to ebooks that I know things about.

I have noticed that some of the vendors have a bit of a convoluted way of buying and i seriously don't like those pop ups that look so desperate when they offer you an extra incentive when you are about to leave the page. I also purposely don't pick ones that allow you to opt in to a list so that narrows it all down a bit...

But yes, I guess I am not adding any value to the process, just sending the potential buyers through...looks like the ones I am sending are not keen on buying...maybe they are all looking for free stuff!

Glad I found this forum, and hope to be reporting my first sale at some point but in the meantime a lot of investigation work I think...

    Hi Vetona,

Would you please share more about how to ask the vendors offering us the trial sample products for advanced evaluation? Thanks a lot.

Just go to the product page, find the vendors email, and ask him. Lol

    Simple as that.

Will definitely have to do that Vetona as I really think I would sell the product better if I had seen it.

Have taken your advice on articles too and am starting to go through some of your suggestions for websites - have written my first article and am going to submit it once I have a bit more info on my blog that I am going to have as my signature. That is a blog I had a little while ago but didn't keep up to date but have restarted it. I also started a new one charting my journey as a newbie affiliate marketer. Am determined to make this work so will be trying anything and everything that you more experienced guys can throw at me :)
