Hi ... looking for video editing software that, among other tasks, will allow me to combine a few video file into one file. For example, I have video files V1, V2 and V3, which I'd like to combine to make one file, V4. I tested several programs, which are good, but not one allowed combining. Any relevant advice is most appreciated. Thanks, in advance.

By combining, do you mean just adding them one after the other? If so, something as simple (and crumby) as Windows Movie Maker will do this, with a number of formats, for free.

If you want to spend some money, then have a look at After Effects.
