Advice on using sites like Squidoo for link-back juice.

    Hi,

I have decided to create a page on Squidoo and Blogger to place a link back to my site which I'm trying to promote.

    I'm concerned about duplicate content.

On my site I have wrote some tutorials, and was thinking about placing the first paragraph from each tutorial on these sites, followed by a link to my site.

Is this a good idea? Or will I have problems with duplicate content, or anything else which I should be aware of?

Thanks for any advice, it's most appreciated!

Seems like a good idea to me, I just did something similar with a squidoo page I created. Seems like an easy way to get backlinks. I dont think you need to worry too much about duplicate content but I guess you could change the text or write something new if your worried.

Don't use duplicate content in this case.

It won't take you long to really create a good squidoo account with good information. I find squidoo accounts as a good second level. Something you can actually build up in the SERPs.

Google loves squidoo, and so should you.

COntent is king; i would prefer unique over the copied. Just spare some time and set up your content; dont be lazy ;).. and if you are busy anyways, you can purchase one at a reasonable price, cheers

I couldn't agree more, always write unique content, and you won't go far wrong. You should also look for more sites that allow DOfollow links within the content, you can see some of my favs here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1449311

thats a good list although its small :). Squidoo and hubpages are Dofollow and really worth it. But then again squidoo is easier to deal with while hubpages require a score of 75 to achieve the dofollow status :). theres like tons of more such sites around...

Don't forget the thumbrule: Unique content is king, You should not take a chance of your content being duplicated try to maintain fresh content that's always safe.
