Hi, sometime next week i am going to be starting my own blog. I have decided that the topic of it will be football as i am highly knowledgable in it, which will make it easier for me to understand what the users want, and easier to write. I also have a friend who is willing to help me write articles on a daily basis, which we will both do. So i am expecting to have about 4-6 articles written each day on the website. I just have a few questions before i start up my site.. - Whats the way to make money from a blog? Adsense? If so, how much is it possible to make from adsense a day from a blog? - How much time will i need to put in to making the blog and marketing effective? I am willing to put alot of time and effort in getting backlinks and advertising on different sites. - And does anyone have any tutorials or articles on how to market a blog successfully? Or any tips? Thanks for any help you can provide. And i would like to hear your success stories with blogs too
If you know your stuff you should be able to make a tidy income. There are thousands of football forums you can comment on - some allow signature links (like this forum) they should bring some traffic. Article writing with links should also attract some traffic. AdSense is your best bet. Keep in mind the type of articles adwords buyers will find useful. "Watch live football" advertisers, Sky Sports channels and football merchandisers should be good. If you write articles and publish them on adsense sharing sites you'll add to your income and (until you build up loyal readers) you'll make more money from the articles than you do your blog in the first months/years.
As for earnings, given the niche you are in. I highly recommend promoting some online sportsbook sites. Although adsense is quick because you getting paid per click. Sportsbook sites play per player or revenue share up to 35% for life of the player. Maybe you should test both of them for 6 months or a year and see which one made you more money. As for advertising a blog, this is a combo of many things that will result in lots of traffic. I will write up a bit for you. This should help you get started. Make sure you read it very carefully. SEO, First off make sure you do on-site SEO. Title, description, using H2 and H3 tags, using pictures with title, internal linking (link to one other post minimum per article), and etc. Now off-site SEO getting backlinks, I highly recommend doing article marketing both submitting articles to sites ezinearticles.com and guest posting on related blogs. Make sure you get a backlink with your keyword text and don't only focus on the homepage. (1 link to homepage and 1 link to internal page per article) Blog commenting and forum posting is easy backlinks as well. (Just remember not to spam) Social media marketing, make a twitter account, facebook fan page, and youtube account for your website. This helps get the sites name on there to people you normally wouldn't reach. It's pretty easy to set your twitter account to auto tweet your article title and link. Remember to be social with your twitter followers. They will tell their friends about your site. Facebook fan page, each time a person becoming a fan it goes to their wall so all their friends can see. Youtube has a ton of traffic just waiting to be pointed somewhere. Get creative with this to drive traffic from youtube to your blog. Ok, that is my little advise to get you started. Never forget the number 1 thing though. Enjoy what you are doing. Around 6 month will be sufficient if you build link at least 20 link per day - And does anyone have any tutorials or articles on how to market a blog successfully? Or any tips? I got but i cannot share it coz its private and i spend 1 years to make it right.
