Advice on placement and ad colors

    I'm not sure if link ads will work as most of my visitors are coming from other blogs to vote and not from search traffic.

    hmm, your ad placement seems fine.
    Personally I would remove the 468x60, I would add another square ads at the bottom of the article, before tags.
    I would remove any mention of text-link-ads.com, so out the big ad for them.

    I would add adlinks in the right column, the square versions of adlinks, one above the others.

    But I fear it would be hard to get any decent CTR with this topic and audience. I would be happy to get even just 2.5% with my ad placement.

    You have a lot of ads on your site but no adsense ads yet. You can place an adsense ads right under your header. It's a good spot to place an ad there.

    Check on the actual site. On the homepage there's no adsense.

    Seems fine to me.. work on targeted traffic, this will increase your CTR..
