    hi guys

am a newbie working on this new project

a new community with some niche content site to attract traffic

hopefully to translate that in to cash with google and other affleite programs

am often trapped with programming challenges and its using too much time and resources

whats the best way to negotiate a deal / a partnership with programmers >?

    Advice will be highly appreciated

Its been 2 months for me and haven’t managed to move forward

I will need some one to handle scripts / installation and maintenance

    Marketing on a professional scale

And am willing to cover the cost of the project

    Am based in the uk

Have verified my paypal account and signed up for google and advertisers etc ..

What kind of deal will be proper for both sides ?

This is actually a good question that I hope someone with knowledge answers. Sure it's easy if you have the money to hire someone for the occasional project, but what kind of long-term deals can you go into and is the best method of doing this?

    As an advice,

No guru programmer or really a good programmer would look in going to partnership. In case the programmer has totally effected from what you are doing. Cause at the end they seek for $. Talking for my side as an programmer and a investor I would totally look at the future of the project niche that you are getting started. There so many casses for the question :"why should I be a partner".

-In the future will the program reech it's success
-What is the ratio of this market on reaching customers(clients)
-Will it bring decent revenue in the future (turn back rate higher)
-The owner is how much trustable (cause in the future after getting everything well I might get kicked) In case if there is a contract of course the contract will lead = lawsuit =$ So probably most of the people don't want to pay money to the law firm etc. Cause it's internationall basis laws. Which would take month's maybe year's to get handled.

So you see there are lot's of casses on going partnership (for programmers)

But If you have a company and you offer a partnership to another company than that will sort most of your problems.

Guess that would be helpfull you guys.

I currently am working with a programmer on limited partnerships. Shoemoney works with a programmer in partnership in his company. It is possible, but I'll tell you this...

It takes a LONG time to find a good, reliable, professional programmer who you would even consider partnering with. It took me three plus years of looking. Right now we are in a limited, or strategic partnership on projects. But it's working.

not looking for a free service no

just looking for a formula to balance a deal

had some less prospers experience with developers

one dose the job perfectly but too expensive for an ongoing arrangement

some left the job half done . even messed us the data base

one did half the job never even got back for his payment

in total nothing seem to be viewable as effective in both ends
    cost and result

so I came up with a partnership as an incentive

not sure if it would be the right thing to do ….

I think it is thou and that’s why am looking for other’s input in it

    ma141.
    Hello Logic here.
You can do this, why because I did it.

Of course ma141 I thought that 15 years ago May 3rd 1993 that I was crazy. I had no computer skills at all. I wanted to be in the computer business period.

I did have money and I did have management skills for both projects and people. I even had manufacturing skills and I had a friend a party friend that we used to go out drinking and he worked for a SCSI controller card company.
He was a Low-Level Software Coder with expertise across the scale in skill a great driver support coder.

Today we are still together gave each other 50% of the company we are profitable we have changed what we do 3 times and today are 2 of the happiest buisness owners I think you can be.

Hope you can see what Logic did and how it has come to this point.

    Logic...

So u recon moving toward a partnership is more effective than hiring someone logic ?

And what would you base the partnership on if the other party is not sharing in the cost ?

Intelligents for money, money for skills.
He had no money but, he had as our company is proof skill.

I had money and not really any better then some computer basics nothing like him.
Big clue keep your egos and greed out of the business it is what made our deal work. We are best friends today to prove it can and does work.
I cannot disclose our numbers to you but they are really good.

I could never think of any other thing that we did together then building and continuing to build this business to whereever it takes us next.

I would make friends with someone who is a good programmer. Then once you trust them, pitch your idea to them and see if they will help you for a rev share deal.

My suggestion would be to do one of the following, as it provided the best results in my search.

    1. Try and find someone local or close by... state, town, whatever.
    2. Once you find someone, have a meeting, dinner, whatever. Sit down and go over your ideas, and theirs. See if there is something beneficial to BOTH of you. Then work on that project as a 50/50 or however you work it out.

They do the coding, and you do the sales. You share in the profits.

In my partnership(s), they work on their ideas separately from mine, and vice versa. But we also have some joint projects we collaborate on. Whether I sell the site, or bill in monthly memberships. He gets a piece of the action. That is, unless I just pay him outright for the code, and support.

Sometimes it depends on what it is, and his need for money. Sometimes it's about what's best for us both to keep funding new projects and keep cash rolling in. For me, I wanted someone local, and who was as hungry as I am.

Local so I can sue them should something happen.
Local so I can meet with them. I am sales and marketing by nature. Not a programmer.
Local so we can do work out logistics better on servers, among many other things.

But I would have considered someone not as close, IF, they were U.S. and I thought they could do what I needed. Keep deadlines, do the code, be available, sign NDA, and non-compete. etc.
