Advice on marketing to a select target audience, any ideas?

    Hey all,

My company promotes Vacation Club membership for various Vacation Clubs around the world by offering a cheap trip to the resort with their family.

There is a very strict criteria for the people we want to reach (as they need to be suitable for membership).

    The criteria is as follows:

    • Couple (aged 30+) or Family (parents aged 30+)
    • Annual household income at least £30,000
    • Home owners
What I'm trying to work out is, where the best places are for targeting people who most likely fit the above criteria?

A few ideas I had are:

    • Advertising our resorts on Groupon Getaways (with criteria in the terms)
    • Paying a company like TravelZoo to send out our resorts to their database of 1.5 million travel related contacts (stating the criteria in the terms)
    • Printing and distributing flyers to post codes in the UK which are known to be "wealthy areas"
A lot of companies in the same industry are deceiving with their marketing, i.e:

    • Scratch cards saying "you've won a holiday", when really they're being sent on a inspection trip to a resort.
    • Competitions where you fill in a survery, then they check your criteria, and you (apparently) win the trip.
We'd rather be very upfront with our marketing and tell people exactly what will happen and that only certain people can apply. We don't want to deceive anyone.

Do you have any ideas for places where we might find these kind of people?

    Really appreciate your help.

    Kind regards,

    Lee

Please be more specific. Do you want to recruit people who do not want to deceive? Or do you want to find people who do not want to be deceived?

Based on your criteria you listed above:

Couple (aged 30+) or Family (parents aged 30+)
Annual household income at least £30,000

This can easily be targeted through facebook's targeting options. I would go on facebook, create a new account (get a facebook voucher for $50 free advertising). set your campaign there and start targeting the people you want to reach. Of course you will need a website to send the customers to and I am positive you have one setup right? If your website is good enough you should have no problems getting some people interested and getting in touch with them. I would try and capture their information through the website and have someone call them once you have their information to try and close the deal.

    Hope this helps.
