Hey folks, I have link units on most of the pages on my site. I've done my best to blend them into my content, but I am yet to have a single click on one of them. The ads the Google are giving me for them don't seem to be very relevant, sometimes they match my content and other times they don't at all. I was wondering if any one who has had success with link units would mind giving me some tips? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I got rid of them on my forums and replaced them with normal ad blocks and saw my forum CTR increase. Link units suck because it's a 2 step process to get the click.
There are some really good threads on this. Some would tell you that link units are their best performers.
I'm sorry that I can't offer you much help, but I place my link units halfway down the page, in the center of all my text. They seem to be my best converters as well. Oh yeah, and I make them a blue color.
Don't blend them in with your page colour and make them blue. People expect links to be blue. And place them where people expect links to be - at the top. After having done this my revenue went up 4x.
