As I have never done this before I don't really have an idea of how much to charge.

What I have been asked to do is create a printable, web and email version of the same newsletter and then send the email version out to a subscribed list. It's only a small list of about 300 people. Obviously i will have to cost in the sending fee (im using campaign monitor) which i worked out to be $7-$8.

How much would you charge or expect to pay for this service?

    Thanks

I can send it out for you. Using my own (smtp) server and newsletter tool. Just provide the list and the email in html format. And the payment. lol..

    PM me if you want.

Sorry, I'm not looking for anyone to do it for me.

I hate to be a naysayer, but if I can get the exact same content online or in print for free, there's no way I'm going to pay anything to subscribe to the newsletter. To charge a subscription fee, you need to provide something extra that others won't get.

There is a cerain snail mail wine newsletter read by about 12,000 people
at a yearly cost of something like $500 each. You do the math. That
particular newsletter is something that everybody in the industry
who wants to e profitable has to get - and because it was first and
best of it's kind the publisher can get the price he wants.

You can charge a lot more for a snail-mail newsletter, even more if
you inlcude an interview-CD every month. Of course creating and
selling such a thing is a lot of work.

What YOU need to do is find out if your subscribers are interested
in a paid newsletter at all. After that it's a matter of finding out how
much they will pay for hard-to-get information. You have to deliver
on the promise of good information - and if you do you can charge
quite a bit more than $8.oo an isssue.

The subscribers aren't paying anything because it's a free newsletter.

I've been asked to design three different types of the same newsletter, print, email and web. Then send the email version out to a subscribed list of 300ish people. I'm not asking the subscribers to pay anything but the client who has asked me to do the design work for him.

Thanks for all the replies though.
