Advantages: - Generally cheap to find a prize to giveaway (you can even look for a sponsor who would buy the item you are giving away for you in exchange for promotion) - If done right can get you tons of short term traffic Disadvantages: - If you don't do it right it will have been all a big waste of time and money.
