I am looking to increase the backlinks on my blog, and thought I'd do some posting on forums with my blog URL in the signature. However, most forums have nofollow tags so that you don't get credit for your signature. Does anyone know of any forums that do not have the nofollow tag? Thanks in advance
Hello Teatree, Someone may have advised you wrong on that. Posting to forums is very good for SEs. Try joining these forums and using your link in your sig. webhostingtalk.com daniweb.com and dp. You will get very good results.
Hi Betias Thanks for that list, will try them asap. I guess I was thinking of the forum on bloghub, which is nofollow, and assumed that most forums were like that. Thanks for setting me straight - am very relieved!
install site status for firefox extension, that will just amrk al the nofollow tags on each sit you visit. YOu can use social bookmarking, but only few are without nofollow. And of course submissions to seo directories. pm for a list
you should just buy some link you can buy then very cheap and you can work on you pr at the same time
Even though forums have nofollow, forum sig or so will would be counted as a backlink. There are mis-information on this issue.
Don't buy links or sell links. Google will flag you red for it. Instead, go for article submission or genuine info links on forums. Like if your blog has infos on -how to make money online- give some tips at the forums, while linking to your blog as well. As long as its supporting the content, you will get good traffic and invite people to link to you as well. Betias has given a good list of forums, so stick to them if you prefer that.
I know I am newbie on this forum, but I am a member fo other forums ofr years Is this forum where everybody can plug their shit? I mean textlinkads....... THey have no cheap links man, they are overpriced and obvioulsy you are misleading people. I know because I sell my links with them and can not se why some people are paying so much for a link. Better to contct sites directly and buy cheaper link. Google might not flag you if you do it smart. Article submission is a wste of time, everybody will grab your content and there will be several duplicates on the net that will not give you the right link juice
Thanks to everyone who has replied. My blog is a page rank 4, and I'd like to get it to a 5. I do a lot of paid sponsored posts for the likes of PayPerPost, but all the incoming links into my blog are organic and natural (i.e. unpaid), and I'd like to keep it that way for the moment. I think I shall pursue trying to post in forums to see if I can boost up to a 5, for now. P.S. Have been reading a lot on this forum about how Google penalises people for paid links. Who do they penalise exactly? Is it people with a lot of paid links going out, or people with a lot of paid links coming in? Or both?
There are lots of forums out there.. Here are my lists: DP V7N forum Webproworld http://www.websitepublisher.net/forums/ Sitepoint.. and many others..
Thanks for that. have just found that this morning my blog went from a 4 to a 3 :-( - so my hopes of going to a 5 have come to nought. Will have to do lots of organic link building to repair this I think.
i think i've read from somewhere that as PR goes up a notch it is getting a bit harder to go up another notch.(am i using "notch" the right way?)
I think classified ads does not help link building because links are only live for about number of days. It will only be helpful for traffic.
