Hi all, Finally decided to put my ideas into action and get a few websites going, i know the basics in Java, PHP and of course HTML is easy. Of course i'll have to learn more than the basics but this whole project will be a learning curve for me as well. Only problem is i hae no idea what language to create my website in. So, without giving it all away my website is going to be of a similar style to many dictionary websites. The basis of this being that the websites content will be the first thing a visitor sees while below users can input their own versions of what they believe is correct. Users can rate each others content, with the most rated being shown first. Of course visitors can register and benefit from other things as well but all in all, a user will visit the site, search a "term" and then see the websites "definition" as well as other users submissions in rank order, they can then add their own. I'm definitely more of a web designer then a coder hence why im asking what is probably the basic. I've almost definitely missed out something important too, hopefully you guys can pick up on these. So what language should i be coding this in? Would like every little specific please! I might use this thread to update everyone on how it goes along each week, if i don't forget that is.. Anyway, thanks to anyone that has any advice at all!
