Advice needed: My correspondence with Google Adsense

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by Rav33n, Sep 24, 2005.

I started a torrent website recently which hosts no copyrighted material whatsoever. I applied for Google Adsense with the url www.lankantorrents.co. I was rejected

I resubmitted my application with the blog thats hosted on the same server. www.lankantorrents.com/blog

Rejected again... exact email. So I decided to contact adsense support like they say in the email.

    My email to adsense-support@google.com

    I get this reply

I dont want to recklessly shoot another email back without knowing what to say properly. I'd appreciate if you guys can gimme some advice.

It should be known that the site still has hardly any content on it, but absolutely no copyrighted content at all!

Fix that first. Show them you have original content and that it is not copyrighted.

Applying for AdSense on a torrent site, and you're disputing Googles descision? You dick head.

Read the TOS then create a site that has a chance of getting approved.

    Raveen,
It may help you get AS ac faster.
Open a blogger account & make a blog. After 3 or 4 postings apply through the blogger Adsense tab. Every chance you may get accepted.

Even after you'd accepted using the above tips, don't ever put adsense in your torrent site.

The advice will help you solve the problem of getting an acceptance from adsense, but wont get u anywhere in putting that ad in your original website. its against TOS to put ads on sites which doesnot satisfy their guidelines, and no matter what we people think google thinks that the site is unacceptable and that is what matters. so its good to get an adsense account, but dont get banned for a lifetime just coz u put that ad on the site in question. one thing u can do is to get an adsense account through blogger and after building ur site with content mail them whether they have any problem in putting the ads there.

Yep, thanks thats what ill try n do.:)

I'd like to see which part of their TOS says torrent sites arent accepted. This ignorance is getting pretty lame... torrent does not equal warez or copyrighted material! I can record myself talking and put it on my torrent site. It's still a TORRENT site but with no copyrighted material. lol and on a sidenote, make sure u know what you're talking about before flaming.

Thanks for the advice, but id like them to approve the main site instead of trying to get in sideways... if nothing else works ill try this method.:)

Why? cos of bad performance or chance of getting banned?

    yea thanks, last resort tho.:)

The thing is ive seen google ads on heaps of torrent sites that host copyrighted material, and theyve been there for sometime now too. That's why im confused at googles rejection especially since im hosting all original stuff ive done.

Ive also read about how torrent sites have been accepted straight up without gettin blogs approved first and the sort.

    Thanks for the replies.:)

Your site says that it is under construction. And Google does not aprove sites that are 'under construction'.
So, you know what to do. Take that message out. Put in more content.
Apply after a few months, I would suggest.

Your problem now is that they have a record of rejecting you too.. You submit with a different site they will still remember that you applied with a site they rejected and it is likely to get you rejected again. Since you can put ads on any site you have, someone who has been rejected is just in a tough spot.

I see both sides in this. While you were not breaking any rules, I think the subject matter of torrents is probably sufficient enough for them to be leary and not get into nit-picking. I imagine that is covered under we may expand the program in the future to include more sites. Right now they probably just reject any torrent-based sites out ignorance or expediency.

You also posted the Google Emails which is a further violation. I just don't see you getting in with that site.

You should always remember this: In Google Adsense, Google is always right. Although you think, Google is wrong, but still the truth will remain that Google is right and will always be right.

    Ok, I'm really confused now.

I resubmitted my application with this URL. www risefromtsunami com. I get the EXACT 'copyrighted material' rejection letter today!

How can they do this? The email address had the @lankantorrents com domain tho. Could it be that?
