Hello, I need some advice on how to get some customers for my hosting site. So far I have posted in a couple forums that if they get someone to sign up for Plan A, they get lets say $5 from me, Plan B, they get $10, etc. Is this a smart idea? Or what else should I do so that I can get people to sign up for hosting through me? It's not even that my packages are bad, if anything they are really good! For example, the package for $7.99 is 50 GB Space, 100 GB Transfer, unlimited email/ftp/mysql, etc...

Any advice at all is greatly appreciated. THANKS!

    -Daniel

use referal system like if you can get a client, than we will give one account free(one for one free) or give free domain or give One complete package - domain, hosting and site. You better start this from your customers first.

Sounds good, I'll use a referal system, but which script should I use? My budget is....like.......um........ $000.000.

    Thanks!

As you've probably already figured out, the web hosting business is very saturated, and it's extremely difficult to differ yourself from the rest of the crowd.

My only suggestion is to have constant promotions, updates, and specials. You can try the referral / affiliating system that you've mentioned - but you have to make sure that you can find enough people willing to do it. Make sure that you make it clear that you've got quality over the rest of the playing field, and that you've got the best prices.

I would also suggest you to sponsor some people or organizations with web hosting. Make sure these parties are willing to endorse you, and willing to spread your web hosting like wild fire. Get some powerful people in the community to talk about you.

    g'Luck.

Good advice, I started to make a list of local non-profit organizations and I'll host them for free as long as they refer me to their members for web hosting.
    Thanks!!! Any other ideas?
