I really want a alternative to AdSense that's why i want to join the affiliate market. Can someone tell me how to start making money with affiliates? Because i know just making a site and putting some banner up won't do any good.

There are so many ways to do this depending on your strengths/interests. I suggest that you do some research here to see what piques your interests.

well you shoud check out ClickBank, you don't need a site. there are thousands of e-books you just have to market them, you can do it with adwords, adbrite etc or wourd of mouth

In many cases Adsense is the most profitable. Just keep this in mind.

I've been trying to find out from last 1 year, but I have concluded that nothing is better than Adsense.

It is correct nothing is better than adsense, if you don't want to do too much labour. Because earning money through affiliate program is not easy however potential is far bigger than adsense.

It's not a quick process, but one way is to create a site with reviews of several competing products. These could be ebooks on the same subject in ClickBank, or they could be any physical products that you can earn affiliate commissions on, like MP3 players, for example, or TVs.

You construct your site using all the best principles of search engine optimization (see seo2020.com for a great introduction) and you place your affiliate links artfully in your reviews. Then you do what it takes to get your site indexed by the search engines. You can also test pay-per-click advertising.

The problem with many affiliate programs it that it takes money to make money. And oftentimes, it takes a lot of careful planning and coming up with and keep ing up with a strategy. You can't just slap it on a site and forget about it like Adsense. Adsense is for people who doesn't want to do any work beyond the sites they've slapped Adsense on. As you said, you can't just put affiliate links/banners on your site and expect the money to roll in. More often than not, people who make money with affiliate programs create sites/pages purely to sell a product (an ebook, a vacumn cleaner, a computer, a ringtone, etc), and they drive traffic to it from PPC sources like Adwords, Adbrite, Overture, etc. It's not easy making money with affiliate programs, but if you are willing to devote the time to learn how to do it properly, and have the start up funds to get it going, it is MASSIVELY more profitable than Adsense.
