Advice for Forum header image?

Can you guys have a look at the header image of my forum & see what you think I should have there. Something not too dark but looks good?

i think the header is good...maybe try to stylize the text a little bit..make it web 2.0

Also, this is probably not the right forum but someone might be able to help-just underneath the search box there is the words Advanced Search, but because they are white they don't show up. What do I need to change to make them black?
