Advice : Always Check Your Affiliate Links After Editting

Last week, I have changed my affiliate links from using tinyurl to my own cloaking system.
something like from tinyurl.com/asdasinaf to mydomain.com/recommends/myniche

Even though my CTR increases by a bit... but the weird thing is my sale has dropped to zero. I have been getting constant sale of 1-2 everyday and I thought... it might just be the down cycle of sales trend. So, I waited...

After a week, still no sale at all. I think that this is extremely strange. So, I went back and check what is happening. I clicked on my affiliate link and realize that the links are actually broken. In such a way that it will go to the affliate page and redirected back to my own page. Immediately, I changed the whole thing back to tinyurl. And now, my sales come back.

The lesson here is, sometimes even in Clickbank, it might show hops, but your links might not be working. I wonder why I have the patience to wait for a week before I went back and check everything.

I check my links two or even three times, before putting on them on my website ;)

I use tinyurl as well, but I think that doesn't look professional....Apart from that I tried php redirect, which deindexed the pages where I used it :(

I am thinking about using HTML, but don't know how Google will react on that......Seems the best is not to cloak the links.

php redirectes deindexed you? I'm ranked very high on some keywords with a page that is loaded with redirects. Furthermore, the page which the redirects point to is ranked even higher.
Check your php code. Make sure it says somewhere about code 301 and permanent redirect.

Yes, as soon as I cloaked my link with php redirect, suddenly all the pages which had this redirect disappeared from Google.

This is the php redirect that I used
