Hello Just wondering if anyone can help me out here, myself and a business partner have struck up on a way of selling links from ac.uk domains. We have been given access to a small amount of webspace within several .ac.uk domains. We would like to know if this service would be of value to people and how much webmasters would be prepared to pay for this kind of service. Any advice that anyone can offer would be much appreciated. It is worth noting that we have not set this up yet, we are just after some advice at this stage, everything is in place for us to launch in the near future if the feedback is positive. Cheers Ben
Yes the links are from the British University network and we are confident that we can keep the pages up. We have access to multiple pages across different institutions as well so we have backup if necessary.
It would be on a user page but the URL would be along the lines of www.*****.ac.uk/~***/something/yourpage.html As part of the package we would allow users a set number of links set within the content of their choice (no adult etc) we would build up the structure of the page around it inluding external authority links to other university sites etc. and link between all the pages we have to ensure incoming .ac.uk links. It is legit in the sense that you can put whatever you want on your uni account (within reason).
