He wants it to have unlimited domain names.
He also wants for the site to allow adult websites.

A lot of hosting company that you can looking for. But before decide to use hosting service, its very recommended to find positive review about the hosting that you will be the plans. You can try ASP.Net hosting as your reference to try.

hostgator is absolutely fantastic in terms of support. BUT servers tend to be *slightly* oversold - I ended up moving away from them. My advice to you is avoid hosts that have "unlimited bandwidth / unlimited HDD". (my other advice is to join with my hostgator coupon code....)
Right now, I am using Ferngullygraphics for hosting, but NO ADULT allowed (sorry). All sites in my sig are hosted there, so you can see how fast and responsive their servers are.

I am really sorry that i couldnt recommend other suitable shared hosting for you, i prefer to only recommend what i have personally used (not what i can google)
But be sure to check "webhostingtalk.com" and you will find many hosts that offer discouts / coupons as well as promote their services. That forum is dedicated to all things hosting.

How much your friend is planning to spend per year for the adult hosting service?

HostGator is a good option. Other hosts that I know to allow adult content are WebHostingPad and CirtexHosting. There are many more, but you have to read the TOS of each of them to be sure that they allow adult content.

If content is legal I'd recommend to use OurInternet.us.
They are providing really stable solutions with outstanding level of support.

A few words I would like add here. When it comes to adult hosting, it need to be said that a serious problem regarding this aspect is the varied range of laws, which changes from one place to another place. So make sure you read TOS & SLA carefully to avoid this problem.

Hostgator is a good choice. You can host unlimited domains in their baby plan.
