Do you think it is possible to make a decent income advertising peoples websites on Twitter? I have about 600 followers and I have been doing some research with random links with my own websites and I have found about 45% to 60% off my followers clicked on my links. What is your views on this?

What is your conversion rate for the click throughs? I did not find much success selling directly through twitter.

If the twitter followers are real then you do get some real traffic. Otherwise it is not good at all.

What do you mean on the conversion rates? What is that and how would I figure it out? All of my followers are real.

    No, it won't help much.
You will get very few clicks from your twitter account to your site.
Its better to do something else rather than wasting time on it.

With only 600 followers I can't see a lot of people wanting the service, and you wouldn't be able to charge a lot for it. It could make you some money, but when your followers begin to see all you do is sell links, then they'll begin to desert you. It could get you something in the short term, but it wouldn't be worth a lot for the time and effort involved

Well I had figured that Grit. What I am saying though is would it be possible to achieve over a mount of time. I wouldn't post just links, I normally tweet something about every 30 minutes. For every 10 tweets I send out their is one advertisment. All my followers are still loyal and none have left me lol.

You will need more than 600 followers to make it worthwhile selling your services.

I am sure it can be done..But you will need much more than 600 followers to really see anything from it. Get it up to about 6,000+ followers and I could advertising certainly being worth it!

I could only see this being useful a time or two, after that i wouldn't think you would get too much traffic.

depends on the product and how often that you have new information. If your posting the same tweet over and over again not much can be expected. If your followers see a constant new stream of information than chances are they will click over to see it. The whole 80/20 thing kicks in as well for if all you are sending is affiliate links your going to see a mass unfollow on your account. I would take 600 targeted followers over 6000 random followers any day of the week

It is effective, if you have enough followers. Unfortunately, getting enough followers for it to be consistent is very difficult. I have multiple accounts for multiple businesses, and the only ones that are making a significant impact are the accounts with thousands of LEGIT followers (never use adders or bots for twitter they just dont work). I would say it definately depends on your product, but for real, noticeable gains you've got to continue to expand your reach

This is literally the 30th thread that I've seen about Twitter advertising/marketing. Why can't you all just post in ONE thread? There's no need for so many threads talking about the SAME thing. Well, back to the original topic, as some of you may know Twitter has updated their Terms of Service. If you're going to advertise with Twitter, please don't be one of those annoying spammers on the trending topics, ie ( I JUST GOT A FREE insert here, JOIN NOW ) #Hashtag, #hashtag, #hashtag, It's annoying, and you NEVER get quality leads.

Personally, I think most of people are bored with the advertising. And this may make your followers decrease. For advertising, in my mind, the most important, you must gain their trust on you.

I agree that to many ads bore people and your followers will look at you like a spammer. Send them fun things to look at or value added material in your tweets. People will like this and start following you and actually reading your posts. A fun site that automatically sends tweets with cool stuff to your followers is Twittley.com I do this all the time. If I find a couple really funny or cool links on Twittley I click the retweet button and it automatically send the links to them to all of my followers. I continue to get more people following me when I do it, so it seems to be working. I then have my blog setup to submit any of my blog posts automatically also. Then periodically I will send an actual ad or affiliate link to my followers, but I space them out, most will click on them and I have been getting conversions. Hope this advice helps.

I have over 45k followers - I seriously doubt you can make any kind of decent income.
