Anyone has any idea how this works? Maybe some sites that offer this kind of advertising.. Some clue about the price? thx
Can you add a bit more detail to your question? Do you want to sponsor news? A RSS feed? Podcast? Or do you want to pay to get your news out there? If it is the last item, the low cost way is to write a really good press release and pay for distribution at the $30.00 level or higher through prweb.com They also have a free service, but the paid version will be worth the money if you write a good release.
Thx for info. I'm thinking about putting a sponsored news on some portal (no need for RSS).. I think I could get some better results by doing this (compared to banners). Since most of people actualy read news on portals.... Let's say for instance that I sell graphic cards. So I would like to advertise on some gaming site, but really hate those banners. So I would pay that site to publish my news.. Is that even a good idea? Haven't really seen much of this type of advertising.. But I have no idea how much this type of advertising costs. Would I pay per view or per click? And lets say that the site has specific users (gamers).
Perhaps you should consider buying a text link? That's an affiliate link to Linkworth (affiliate mentioned in the interest of full disclosure). I have zero direct experience with a transaction with them, but in light of what you are asking for, they may work. They sell text links on home pages, inside pages and site-wide on various types of sites - from start-ups to PR 5+ sites. You can control, in most cases, the text used for the link. So for 5-$50 bucks a month (you set the price based on the site you select), you get traffic and a link that helps your own page rank. In other words, if you find a site you like, you could buy a link like this: Graphic Cards on the home page of some site for maybe $10 per month. Otherwise, I consider AdWords or approaching other publishers directly about banners (I know that does not thrill you). Again, there is always the $30.00 prweb.com approach. Hope this helps!
My pleasure. Let me give you a quick example of the legit prweb approach. If you click this link for "Tiltrotor and the Future." It will open a Google search for that term with the quotes. Now some of the results will be stand alone links added by databases and folks doing it the old fashioned way. But as you look through the pages of results and the links to my Aerospace News website , you'll see how many places just ran the release as is - including the incoming links. This is in effect sponsored news, yes? One more tip - at the $30 level, prweb.com will allow a plain url link in your release. At some higher level (can't recall), you can put in keyword (like my aerospace news link above) links which have a much greater SEO effect. Um, one more. Don't waste a press release on bad text or no real news. PRweb has editors and they will not let you send out junk. Think about real PR and good writing. Happy marketing!
