I have an educational type website which attracts mostly college and university students working on projects. Currently I'm using google adsense which provides ads loosely connected with the topic. But I am wondering if this really is the way to go. The ads are somewhat relevant to the site's content, but I don't think they would be of much interest to teenagers. Any suggestions as to what sort of advertising or affiliate products I could try out instead? At least students doing homework spend quite a bit of time on certain pages, so I probably just need adverts/products that peak their interest more.
Here is an idea, suggest some relevent products from Amazon, young people love amazon, and if they get to Amazon through your site, they get a cookie from you that lasts 30 days, so no matter what they buy, even if its not what you recommended, you'll get credit for it, provided they don't get re cookied by someone else!
School supplies! Not pens and paper but new inventions and new organizers and things. Or you could just browse the walmart or target products and sell through them. I was going to say adult content...but you know.
