What is in your opinion, the most effective form of site advertising? I notice heavy traffic sites like myspace uses a lot of text and image ads. But they also use a ton of flash advertising. On my site I can't offer large banner ads, but I can offer text ads. But, I am concerned that it will take away from the sites dignity, being covered in advertising. I get tons of requests from members who want to advertise (on my forum) and I have always turned them down. Some are willing to pay decent amounts ($300 per month is the highest offer) but I am reluctant to sell advertising because of the way some of these sites I visit appear when they have so much advertising that it makes the site look stupid. I thought about banner rotation software but have never found a script that is easy to use and manage. Any feedback on this? Thanks in advance. Dave P.S. My forum is actually pretty new, meaning it doesn't get that much traffic yet, so getting all of these inquiries about advertising so soon is good news, I just don't wanna offer a value to the visitors without being in their face too much.
