Advertising Rates

    I'm looking to supplement my adsense revenue with some banner ads that I'll sell on my own.

    How do you decide what to charge for button ads, banner ads and no follow links?

    I know it's based upon traffic, niche, but are there some guidelines?

    Depends on the niche and the type of CPM that's standard.

    Your adsense eCPM should give you an idea as to what advertisers are willing to pay in that niche.

    I think this makes sense. Perhaps even double the CPM that adsense pays as the purpose of selling your own ads is to make a little more then what adsense gives you for the same banner space.

    I notice that for the banners that I have on my site, the adsense payout really varies. For one banner ad on my site, adsense pays in the pennies for CPM while on the same site, another ad, adsense pays double digits.
