Advertising Questions

I have 2 questions. This is the first one: I know this may sound kind of noobish but may I ask how do you add a banner ad? I know you first go to AdminCP, Advertising and then Add New Ad and then for the code, do you type in the HTML, BBCode, IMG, or something else code? Please tell me what code to put in for the banner advertising section like for the navbar.

My second question is: How do you put a text ad link in the header. Here's an example of what I'm talking about: go to http://forumpromotion.net and where it has all the links below the navbar but above the forums is where I want my users text link advertisements. Where do I have to go to edit the code to add a text link ad.

Please reply and thanks for all your time. I greatly appreciate it!

Which version of vB do you have? if it is 4x. Then it's HTML.

    If you're talking about this...

    It's just a .gif image.

If you're looking to rotate images/ads you'll need a separate ad rotator system. We use Google DFP https://www.google.com/dfp/ with great success, however the learning curve is pretty steep.
